Go Green

GREEN...it follows me everywhere! Nursing student at UVU = Green scrubs. Associate at Robert's Craft = Green apron. Patient Care Assistant = Green polo. At least there wasn't any chance of getting pinched on St. Patty's Day!

Darin' Erin

It all started out so innocently....a talk in Sacrament meeting. The topic was innocent enough: "Diligence in Progressing the Gospel." If I wasn't such a procrastinator, it may have never happened. But, there I was...ten minutes before church began, scribbling words on a scrap of paper hoping they'd shape themselves into some sort of coherent thought. Then Erin walked in, and by the look on her face I knew something was up. "I will bake you a batch of cookies if you can work the word 'masturbation' into your talk." And then she was gone. It was on! Being the brilliant, quick witted mind that I am, she had to know I would succeed. And succeed I did, with barely a hint of a smile!

True to her word, Erin baked me the yummiest ensemble of crumbly cookie crust, caramel, walnuts, and chocolate covered in sprinkles!

It was a bitter sweet gift because the next day she was moving to Yuma Arizona! No, she's not a snow bird...she's the newest employee of a large pile of dirt-
-soon to be the All American Canal! It's only been a week since she left, but her absence is felt every day. Here are just a few things we love about Erin:

  • Shayla ~ Everything!
  • Sarah ~ I love Erin because she laughs at me even when no one else thinks I'm funny. She's the one who can tell me to shut up and mean it as a term of endearment. She's my third sister who makes fun of me for my love of pink and my domesticity. And she's the one who says to my crazy plans, "Well, why not?"
  • Lisa ~ She is so selfless, and "uber" funny! I love her.
  • Shara ~ Trustworthy, good, confidant, hilarious! If ever I thought I was going too far I knew there was Erin who would still laugh. All her innuendos. Looked after people. She stole my bra and pillow and penguin and put it on my porch. She's a sister!
  • Heather ~ I love when she says kinky things that make me giggle out of embarrassment.
  • Sarah ~ Hasn't text me back yet....but I will fill it in as soon as she does.
  • Dana ~ Heart Erin and miss her terribly. Here's the amazing thing about Erin: She has all these "Big Sisters" she looks up to (big=Older) when really, it's us who look up to her; I know I do. That's erin. =D
  • Somer ~ She's the complete friend package! A true sister! Someone to laugh with, cry with, and burst out in song with!
Erin, you are an amazingly wonderful woman, full of Moxy! You're an example to all of your friends as to what true friendship really is! The light of Christ shines through you and warms those around you! We love you! We miss you! Come visit us soon!

Notes on Love

Love Notes. I love Love Notes. There's just something validating in receiving those small, brightly colored pieces of paper containing bits of randomness and good cheer. I have every Love Note I've ever gotten. When days are a bit cloudy and it's difficult to see the sun, I randomly pull a Love Note, or sometimes more, from the box and it brightens my day. Here are some of my favorite Love Notes:

Sum Sum ~Can I call you Sum Sum? You're Awesome!
I hope you can love me back!
Somer~ I love your sense of humor, honesty, and faith.

Somer ~ You are such a sweetie pie!! You always make my day! Such a beautiful girl! I really admire you in so many ways. Thank you for always being so happy.
My Somer ~ Thank you darling for everything always. You're the true-bluest friend a girl could ask for! I think you're super great!

Somer~ I chose to write you a note on yellow paper because it is bright, sunny, and cheery, all the characteristics that remind me of who? YOU! I love spending time with you and admire your cheery attitude in life. Just know I think you're "crackalakin!"

Little things make a big difference in our lives. Little are the Love Notes that bring rays of sunshine into not so sunny days.
